Traditional lodges offer the best in classic safari comfort, combining comfort with practicality and an understated sort of flamboyance. The formula is tried, tested, and highly successful.
Chacma Bush Camp
Chacma is a tiny traditional thatched camp offering 3 family friendly chalets in diverse, rugged Balule landscape. With the Olifants river running through the reserve close by, elephants are omnipresent and Big Five are excellent. There are plenty of secret viewpoints and sundowner spots.
Blyde Wilderness River Lodge
Blyde Wilderness Lodge is a peaceful riverbank bed-and-breakfast lodge offering a family welcome and a tranquil retreat, particularly after time on the hot, dusty Kruger roads. There are two pools set in beautiful gardens with general game including resident hippos and crocs. Massage is available
Kapama River Lodge
River Lodge offers the largest private bush accommodation in the Lowveld, with appropriately sized views of the Drakensberg mountains. On a private fenced reserve, it is fully featured with an excellent spa, offering good value and a quick way to see the Big Five when time is limited.
Wait-a-Little Horseback Trails
Three multi-night horseback trails varying in range and comfort are offered in 35,000 hectares below the Blyde Canyon and its escarpment. Suited to experienced riders, small groups of well-schooled horses are able to approach the Big Five under the supervision of armed guides.
