TRADITIONAL FARMSTEAD

Amani is a traditional thatched private lodge in the Klaserie. Farmhouse in style, it is fully catered and provides guided drives over an exclusive 3,800 hectare concession extending along both banks of the river and unfenced with the main Kruger.

Varied and rich game

Amani’s game-rich area is characterised by a spread of mature riverine trees fed by a high water table around the watercourse. This contrasts with the more sparse bushveld on surrounding plains, so the Klaserie attracts game for its year-round water.

Klaserie river pride

Animals including all of the Big Five are free to roam through the Kruger all the way into Mozambique. Predators come to places where the megafauna congregate and there is a resident “River” pride of lions.

ACTIVE WATERHOLE

Centered on an oxbow of the Klaserie River, the concession is large and productive. It is notable for large herds of elephants and buffalo. These and other game can often be seen from the Lodge at its spot-lit waterhole.

ACTIVITIES

There is a strong focus on conservation and interpretation of the bush on the game drives and walks that start and end the activities of each day. Flexibility is the order of the day: expect to leap off the vehicle to follow promising tracks into the bush, and to range widely through the diverse terrain of the concession.

DAMS & SUNSETS

Game drives can include a visit to the Halfway Inn Hide, which overlooks a game-rich dam, or the Koppie Lookout, which offers a spectacular vantage point for witnessing the stunning hues of an African sunset – an experience never to be forgotten.
