Stylish boutique lodge
Simbavati Hilltop is a small, fabulous and unusually architected Lodge.

Hilltop vista
Its location is outstanding atop a koppie (rocky hill) directly overlooking the Nhlaralumi River with spectacular views from the suites and the main area to the distant Drakensberg mountain foothills.

11,000 Timbavati hectares
This is a Big Five area and views of hippos and elephant bathing in the water below are regularly enjoyed. Game roams through from the Kruger on one side and Klaserie on the other. Simbavati has decent private traversing within the 11,000 hectares of Timbavati’s northern sector.

Drive for Big Five
As the lodge is up a rocky hill the best sightings occur on drives and may require a little exploration to achieve. Allow three nights for the Big Five, though you may see them in a single drive. Occasionally traversing restrictions onto adjacent properties may impede your progress.

Mini-village vibe
Eight pavilion-style luxury suites are arranged to take advantage of the panorama and create a village feel. Each unusually consists of two tents – a bedroom, and a separate bathroom – linked by a passage opening to the outdoors, giving you either an indoor or private twin shower.

Deck & daybed
Rooms are beautifully appointed and have private game viewing decks with a daybed to relax and take in the scenery. Each has a mini bar with drinks and snacks, coffee and tea-making facilities.

Main area lounging
The infinity pool and circular bar give you great vantage points for viewing game below. A covered lounge area offers shade from the sun, and has a selection of books and board games, along with WiFi.

Access & ages
Some suites are only accessible via steep stairs. For the mobility impaired, please stipulate your needs when booking. No children under 12 years of age are allowed; under 16s share a room with an adult.
