ACCESSIBLE, CONVENIENT
Safari Club is a 4 minute drive or transfer away from ORT International, and is situated off the airport campus. It is a friendly and comfortable place, and welcomes old safari hands as they pass through on their way to the bush.
FREE TRANSFER
There is a free shuttle to and from ORT, departing from the bus terminal at one end of the airport complex.
COMFORTABLE, SMALL
Safari Club offers 17 luxury en-suite twin bedded rooms with air-conditioning, and tea/coffee making facilities. They are well soundproofed, and you can only hear aircraft movements if you go outside.
LOVELY GARDENS
The club is a low rise, thatched development, set in lovely gardens. It is a welcoming contrast to the bustle of the airport.
FUN BAR
There is a lively bar upstairs in the rafters of the main building, furnished in Nguni cattle-hide and stacked with random memorabilia.
BASIC FOOD
Breakfast is good. In the evening, food is comforting but the menu seems never to change. There are options other than the airport for dining in the area, and Room Service or similar will deliver from a range of nearby restaurants and food chains.
SWIMMING POOL
A small swimming pool has been installed for hot summer afternoons which is a welcome addition. There is not a huge amount of other attractions to keep you at the lodge during the day.
INTERNATIONAL CLIENTELE
There is a good mix of foreign and local travellers here, inbound from or outbound across Southern Africa. The excellent, personal service means that many are repeat clients.
