Makanyi Photo Safari
Makanyi offers a private vehicle to accommodate lenses and photographic equipment (supports, bean bags etc) and provides a professional wildlife photographer as tutor. This photographic safari is suitable for all levels of photographer, be it first-time or more advanced users. It is designed to take place over four days.
Tuition can be one-to-one or in a group (max 4 people). The photography tutor teaches the client and fulfills the role of a private guide as well. This gives maximum flexibility and allows you to linger at sightings or go in search of specific subject matter, be it fauna, flora, birds or landscape.
You will focus on practical and technical skills both on the game drive and back at the lodge. Professional support consists of practical on-location tuition at sightings, with advice on shutter speed, ISO and aperture, and lighting conditions. Your guide will give you insights into animal behaviour to enhance the opportunity for some excellent images.
Throughout the photo safari you will discuss settings, composition and shooting techniques, such as panning, back lighting, side lighting and action shots.
Attention is focused on how your camera works (from the basics of its various modes, what they do, which are best for wildlife) to more technical ways of using it (under- and over-exposures, employing histograms, fill and external flash, and high speed sync).

At the lodge you will be introduced to (or improve your) post-processing skills, using Lightroom as a tool to manipulate, optimise and export your images as real world examples.
