About us

Dvid at k2c

David - founder

David founded this site fifteen years ago after contracting the bush bug whilst training as a Field Guide. He reacted in a stereotypical fashion by chucking in his job in strategy consulting, and swapped his carry-on suitcase for softer luggage. He has been lurking around these pages ever since. His home reserve is Lissataba.

Jaco at k2c

Jaco - technology

Jaco hails from Nelspruit in the heart of the Lowveld. His local insight combined with his years of experience in Knowledge Management has enabled him to power through the development of the flexible and good-looking technical platform you see before you. In between bouts of burning midnight oil, Jaco runs a scout troop and makes delicately spiced biltong.

Bloodstone

Debbie - reservations

Debbie and her team work tirelessly to ensure you get the best availability and rates we can find in the market from lodges to transfers, car hire and domestic flights. They work with our guides and the lodge owners and know pretty much everyone. Their combined decades of industry expertise allow us to quote flexibly for you; this and their insight into the specifics of each lodge allow us to tailor your safari to your precise needs.

Read his book about hand raising and releasing leopard cubs in the wild.

A third generation African with intimate knowledge of the natural environment of Southern Africa, Daryl’s passion for the bush and traditional culture enables him to show you the essence of Africa during your time with us.

Adam at k2c

Adam - media

Adam is an audio journalist and trainer. He is also Kruger2Canyons’ podcast professional. When not helping install Lights for Learning in communities in the Zimbabwe, Zambia or the Phillipines, Adam runs the UK-based podcast production and training business LittleSmasher.com.

Colin at k2c

Colin - photography

Colin is responsible for the many of the most striking images you see on our website. He grew up on South Africa’s Highveld, spending holidays visiting the Kruger and developing an enduring passion for wildlife and photography. Even keener and now semi-professional, you may buy prints of his photographs at photoafrica.net. He will be running photography workshops for us later in the year and is a prolific contributor to k2c’s flickr! pool.
