Singita Sweni is situated in an exclusive 15,000 hectare private concession on the remote eastern boundary of Kruger National Park and on the border with Mozambique. The region has historically been inaccessible to the public. Sweni Lodge comprises six shaded suites on the banks of the Sweni River. Constructed almost entirely of glass, slatted wood and bleached woven branches, the suites offer absolute exclusivity and privacy with a wooden game viewing deck and outside shower. The Lodge makes use of African artefacts, pots, baskets, dark leather, khakis and greens, in contrast to the cliff side suites which are decorated in white fabrics with light, airy interiors.

Day Two

Receive an early wake up call with coffee and tea before your dawn safari. One can sense the excitement… who knows what to expect? A herd of ever-cautious impala huddled together, a leopard in the branches of a knobthorn tree with a kill from the last hours of darkness, a herd of elephant feeding in the lush vegetation or a pride of lion in the shade of an acacia. The sound of creatures awakening to a new day stirs your passion for Africa and its many wonders.

After being enticed back to the Lodge for a well-earned breakfast, explore your surroundings or relax around the Lodge pool. Whether an indulgent massage or beauty treatment at the spa, relaxing under an African sun on your sundeck, a workout at the gym or some superb shopping at the trading store, any number of discoveries await. A light lunch will be served. Then perhaps a siesta before gathering for afternoon refreshments and your evening game drive.

Watch as a vivid sunset sky gathers to form the backdrop of an unforgettable wildlife experience. As darkness approaches, the animals become more active, rarely seen nocturnal creatures emerge and incredible interactions are the order of the day. Pause midway for drinks and conversation as the sun disappears at one of the many vantage points hidden in the bush. The lions stir from their slumber to begin the night's hunt and the leopard slinks through the long grass in the twilight. The evening drive is the apex of the African adventure, moments that will define forever your memories of Africa.

Guests at Singita Lebombo encounter something truly original: a cuisine inspired by African flavours and yet guided by the Western culinary tradition. Enjoy dishes such as Springbok fillets with a fresh papino, dill and ginger relish. Scoop indigenous peppadews onto a mixed green salad. Dunk homemade breads into African aubergine pate. Relish South African cheeses with a glass of crisp Cape wine. Singita has a raft of international awards for the quality of its wine cellar.

Day Three

After your now sharpened senses are awakened by the sounds of the bushveld, congregate with the Rangers at the main lodge for tea, coffee and light snacks in anticipation of your last early morning game drive. The fresh aromas of Singita's signature breakfast will ultimately entice you back to the Lodge as the heat of the day begins to build. Overlooking the African plains from the main deck, a spectacular breakfast follows your return, with a buffet of seasonal fruits, cereals, yoghurts and fruit juice, followed by a delectable hot breakfast.

When you have freshened up and gathered your belongings together, your pilot from Sefofane Air will be waiting to whisk you back into the skies. Your flight takes you over the magnificent vistas of the Kruger National Park, the Mpumalanga Drakensberg and Blyde River Canyon before giving you time to reminisce and reflect as you head westwards towards Johannesburg International Airport and an all-too-rapid return to reality.
