Choosing to explore the African bush on foot is unlike any experience you might have in the comfort of a Safari vehicle. Walking Safaris offer you the opportunity to take a life’s journey onto a land where man has faced the wilderness for centuries, where the Big Five roam alongside the little five every day.

Step off the vehicle with your personal Guide and Tracker to follow ancient elephant paths meandering through the veld in search of tributaries and waterholes. Sit on a rocky outcrop after tracking a leopard awaiting its departure from a dip in thick bush. Watch your guide coax an ant lion from its conical pit. Learn about the mysticism and use of plants and trees in traditional culture and medicine. Touch, feel, and explore your surroundings with renewed senses.

To go on Safari means to take a journey, and a journey on foot offers unparalleled adventure.

Our Walking Safaris are conducted in exclusive wilderness areas of the Greater Kruger. We offer different trail terrains and experiences in different parts of the Park, ranging from the southern tip to the farthest north, as well as the Private Reserves to the west. Most are limited to a maximum of eight guests. You can reserve a Safari privately, or join a group of like-minded trailists.

Typically our trails last for three nights/four days. Morning walks are often combined with afternoon drive/walk combinations, allowing you to absorb the best of both worlds.

The rugged experience of exploring on foot combined with the comfort of exclusive accommodation opens you up to a journey of memories that last a lifetime.

Experience a wide diversity of landscape, flora, and fauna with the mighty baobab groves and fever tree forests containing some of the Kruger's largest elephant and buffalo herds.

Approach the larger mammals under the instruction of your guide and get a real taste of the wilderness. You will be spending three nights in the real wild, under the canvas of the fly camp's dome tents and a blanket of African stars.

The North-South Trail $$$+ transport

Combine the most diverse habitats and unusual accommodation within the Kruger in the most exhilarating of ways – days spent on foot and nights in the luxury of private concession Lodges inside the Park.

The southern sector trails are conducted in game-rich open savannah areas directly to the east of Sabi Sand but inside the Park boundaries. In the north enjoy pristine wilderness, stunning landscapes and winter game concentrations around the Luvuvhu River. Here you will stay at the fabulous Outpost Lodge.
