Timamoon is an intimate, luxurious, romantic bolthole up in the mountains of the Panorama Route, fashioned after the luxurious palaces of the north African dynasties. Six uniquely styled suites offer panoramic views over the Sabie Gorge down along the river; all are equipped with fantastic rimflow plunge pools. Most also have outdoor showers and daybeds. Timamoon is peaceful and exotic; whilst there are bountiful activities on offer in the immediate locality, it really comes in to its own as a retreat and change of scene after beating around in the heat of the Lowveld below. It feels remote and the ambience is very peaceful.

The Lodge, Suites and facilities are remarkable for the attention to detail and discreet yet comprehensive service offered by the staff. The restaurant is as beautiful as the rooms, and the food justifies staying for a few nights of luxurious rest and recuperation. The food is particularly good, ranging from breakfasts by the spectacular koi carp pond to supper in the luxuriously appointed restaurant open to a view over the valley. Cooking is sophisticated, stylish, ambitious and international. The chefs present the food and enjoy the opportunity to create something specifically to your taste should you wish. The bar doubles as a cigar lounge and is a lovely place to retreat for coffee and a brandy after a sumptuous dinner. There is a full sized snooker table in its own room in the main area.

If you do feel the need to leave the tranquility of the Lodge for something more enervating then activities on offer include horse-riding, quad-biking, abseiling, caneoing on the Sabie River, walking, and cycling. Hazvyiew and Sabie, two towns between which Timamoon is located, are local hotspots for outdoor puruits.

The Long Tom Toboggan and Graksop's Big Swing are nearby, and the Sudwala Caves and the amenities (shops, restaurants of Nelspruit) are within easy reach. Day trips in to the Kruger are easily organised with the nearest Gate around 30 minutes drive away. The attractions of the Blyde Canyon and Panorama Route are close by, and you can head further in to the hills to the trails and rainforests of Magoebaskloof or to the Cycad Gardens of the Rain Queen Modjadji. Staff will happily pack a picnic for you to take on these adventures, or to just wander down to sit on the banks of the river and while away the day in peace.

A gorgeous, tranquil retreat perfect for celebration, romance and relaxation.

The Lodges are all wonderfully situated with great views, are similar in size and individually, tastefully furnished, but it is Moon River that has the signature vista down the Valley. Bombay Moon in the highest up with the farthest views in to the valley, and also has its own rock pool which the Suite nestles around (in addition to the plunge pool and outdoor shower common to all Suites). Amber Moon is further in to the forest into which its views extend, and is surrounded by verdant banana plantations.
